Ford recall

The government issued a series of recalls because some Ford vehicles have faulty cruise control switches and could catch fire. The last recall was back in August but since then NHTSA has received about 60 complaints of engine fires. The agency also said so far, switches on only about half the 9-point-6-million recalled vehicles have been disconnected.

The recall affects a long list of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. Parts to fix the vehicles won't be available for passenger cars until next month and truck owners will have to wait until June. But you still need to take your vehicle to a Ford dealer as soon as possible to have the cruise control switch disconnected. That will eliminate the risk of fire.
